Important Disclaimers

While intended for mobile SAG and other support personnel, keep your attention on the road and cyclists, not on this map, while driving.

Using this map on the course will require a mobile device with cell network data capability and a GPS. iPhones, AT&T and Verizon iPads, many Android devices, etc. should work. It will utilize bandwidth for map data (probably many megabytes - more if you manipulate the map often) and vehicle location data.

To share your up-to-date location, the web browser must be open and the device awake (i.e., screen on). You'll probably want to set your device to not go to sleep. This means you will certainly want an external power source (e.g., power port to USB converter) to keep your device charged. Data and GPS usage will drain your battery very quickly. Or you can only open the map and view or share your location at notable times during the day, such as at an incident, feed zone, when stopped for some time, or if you're lost. ;-) Use of this map is entirely optional, but it may be useful to you and to others around you.

Showing Your Location

Select the "My Location" checkbox to view your location on the map. You may be prompted for access to your location or to enable Location Services or Geolocation. Select "Yes" or "OK". On some devices, you may need to enable this for your web browser in the device settings. The blue location marker updates in (near) real time as you move, but only you will see your marker on the map.

Following Your Location

Select "Follow Location" to keep your location marker centered in the map as you drive. This can be handy if you are driving, allowing you to see your current location without having to manipulate the map. Clicking other icons on the map may cancel following. Simply activate the checkbox again to re-enable it.

Sharing Your Location

This map can collect your location information and transmit it to a central database so that others can see your location on the map. This can be very useful information for the support coordinators, feed zones, and other support personnel, and can be handy for you to orient with other nearby support vehicles.

Select your assignment from the drop-down menu. LB1 is for tactical call "BLUE1", LY9 is for tactical call "YELLOW9", LR2 is for "ROVER2", and LRO is for the race official. Then click "Share Location" to have your location shared so others can see your location on the map. Locations are updated every 30 seconds or so (location might update less frequently if the station is not moving or is using APRS). Icons disappear if their location is not updated in the previous 30 minutes. The numbers in parentheses (e.g., "(4)") indicate how many minutes old that station's location data is.

Click a station in the side-bar to center it in the map. Click an icon on the map to see details, such as contact information. Moving APRS stations and some other stations will show speed and direction of travel. Vehicles with APRS will display using their APRS tactical call sign and their vehicle icons have an antenna.
